General Manager, Finance

ROLE SUMMARY

The General Manager, Finance will play a pivotal role in strengthening the finance function as the company prepares for an IPO within the next 12 months. This role is responsible for ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, audit readiness, and compliance with ASX listing requirements. The General Manager, Finance also supports the development of ESG related reporting processes, ensuring the company can meet the increasing expectations of investors and regulators on sustainability, risk and governance disclosures.  They will work closely with the CFO, advisors, auditors, and leadership team to deliver timely, accurate, and investor-grade financial information while building scalable systems and processes to support the company’s growth trajectory.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Lead the preparation of accurate, timely statutory accounts in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS).
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to support governance expectations of a listed environment.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, ASIC, and ASX requirements, including IPO-related disclosures.

IPO Preparation

  • Support CFO in IPO readiness, including due diligence, prospectus preparation, and financial reporting sections.
  • Coordinate external auditors, tax advisors, and IPO advisors to ensure smooth and compliant processes.
  • Implement reporting processes to meet ASX continuous disclosure obligations post-listing.
  • Support development of investor-grade reporting packs and analysis.

Financial Systems & Processes

  • Review, upgrade, and embed scalable finance systems, processes, and policies suitable for a listed company.
  • Lead automation and efficiency improvements across transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

 

ESG & Sustainability Reporting

  • Work with CFO and advisors to establish processes for ESG and sustainability data collection, assurance, and reporting.
  • Contribute to preparation of prospectus and ongoing ESG disclosures in line with ASX, ISSB/IFRS S1 & S2, and investor expectations.
  • Integrate ESG metrics (e.g., carbon reporting, diversity, governance KPIs) into financial and management reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure systems and controls are designed to support reliable and auditable ESG reporting.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor finance team members, building capability for IPO and beyond.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and strategy teams to embed financial discipline across the business.

  • Audit & Risk Committee and Board (as required)
  • Internal finance team and operational stakeholders

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial control or audit, with experience in ASX-listed or IPO environments.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (AASB/IFRS).
  • Proven track record of leading financial close, statutory reporting, and audits.
  • Experience designing and embedding internal controls and scalable systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, founder-led, high-growth company.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Direct IPO experience (preparation or execution).
  • Exposure to ESG reporting frameworks (ISSR, GRI, TCFD) and integration of ESG data into financial reporting.
  • Exposure to international tax or multi-jurisdictional operations (e.g., Australia, Singapore, US).
  • Experience in technology, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries.

  • IPO readiness plan milestones achieved (financial reporting, audit readiness, ESG disclosures, prospectus support).
  • Clean audit opinion for statutory accounts.
  • Robust internal controls and governance framework implemented.
  • ESG reporting framework established and integrated into financial reporting.
  • Delivery of scalable reporting processes and systems.
  • High-performing and engaged finance team.
