Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale data center construction projects, including site infrastructure, data hall fit-out, and prefabricated module deployment.

The role will support project planning, technical coordination, procurement, and subcontractor management to ensure works are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and quality requirements.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors to coordinate multiple technical packages across the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Support the delivery of data center construction projects across infrastructure works, data hall fit-out, and modular systems.
  • Coordinate between project teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
  • Track project deliverables, milestones, and construction progress.
  • Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues during project execution.

 

Data Center Infrastructure Support

  • Assist in the coordination of site infrastructure and utilities required for data center operations.
  • Support installation and integration of key infrastructure systems including:
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Transformers and switchgear
    • UPS systems
    • Mechanical cooling systems
    • Chilled water infrastructure
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness aligns with downstream project activities.

 

Data Hall Fit-Out Coordination

  • Support delivery of data hall fit-out works, including white space infrastructure and supporting systems.
  • Coordinate contractors responsible for installation of:
    • rack infrastructure
    • busway and power distribution systems
    • containment systems
    • cable management and structured cabling
  • Ensure works are installed according to design specifications and project standards.

 

Prefabricated / Modular Systems

  • Assist in the coordination and deployment of prefabricated MEP modules, including:
    • Construction sequence
    • Influence design w.r.t for buildability
    • Packaging of scope for design & field install
  • Coordinate logistics, delivery, and installation of modular systems.
  • Support interface management between prefab modules and site infrastructure.

 

Procurement & Subcontractor Management

  • Support procurement activities including preparation of technical scopes and subcontract packages.
  • Assist with evaluation of vendor and subcontractor proposals.
  • Track subcontractor deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress and coordinate issue resolution.

 

Planning & Reporting

  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules and work plans.
  • Track progress against project milestones and identify potential risks.
  • Prepare project reports, progress updates, and coordination documentation.
  • Maintain project records including drawings, RFIs, and technical submissions.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience in construction or engineering project delivery.
  • Experience supporting data centre, mission-critical, or large infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Exposure to MEP systems, infrastructure projects, or modular construction is advantageous.
  • Experience with data centre infrastructure systems (electrical and cooling).
  • Familiarity with modular / prefabricated construction methods.
  • Experience using project planning tools (MS Project, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes for mission-critical facilities.

  • Reporting to Senior Manager, Construction & Deployment
