Firmus Technologies

Firmus Technologies is a global leader pioneering the development and operation of efficient AI infrastructure across Asia Pacific.

Founded in Australia in 2019, our mission is to create the most efficient AI infrastructure by combining cutting-edge technology with a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

At Firmus, we are unique in our approach. We design, build, and operate a new class of digital infrastructure – the AI Factory. Through our model-to-grid technology approach, we have pushed the boundaries of multi-generational liquid cooling systems, energy management, AI software orchestration, and construction. For our customers, this approach allows us to make every watt count and deliver low-cost AI tokens globally.

Firmus AI Cloud

Our large-scale GPU cloud platform, Firmus AI Cloud, is purpose-built to deliver energy-efficient AI compute at scale to customers.

It empowers developers, enterprises, educational institutions, and government users to train and deploy AI models with unmatched efficiency and cost savings. With an ever-growing suite of services and applications, we are committed to delivering a cloud experience that is market-leading, proprietary, and built to scale.

Role Summary

Firmus builds and operates AI factories - the industrial plants of the intelligence age. We design, manufacture, construct, own and operate the full stack: from the grid connection and energy systems, through our own cooling and power infrastructure, to the GPU clusters and the software that runs them. Energy in, tokens out.

We are not a data centre company. We are a process industry, converting renewable energy and GPU supply into AI compute at a cost of production we believe no operator starting today can match. Our facilities are engineered from the GPU outward, manufactured in our own supply chain, and operated against contracts with some of the world's largest and most progressive technology companies operating at the frontier of AI development.

The scale of what we are building means our impact is felt well beyond technology: in national energy markets, where our demand unlocks stranded renewable generation; in regional economies, where gigawatt-scale industrial investment lands; and in national capability, where sovereign AI infrastructure is becoming a strategic asset. Writing about Firmus means writing about all of it - compute, energy, capital, and policy - with numbers that hold up.

Firmus runs on narrative as much as it runs on engineering. The same story - what we build, how it performs, what it costs, why it matters - has to hold together across our website, investor presentations, customer materials, government submissions, and thought leadership, told at different depths for different audiences but never contradicting itself.

The Strategic Writer owns that coherence. You are the person who can sit with an engineer in the morning and understand why our cooling architecture impacts the efficiency of AI Token production, then explain it that afternoon in a response to the media, a minister, communities where we have sites, or the front page of our website - accurately, and in their language. You write across the full surface of the business and our audiences, and you are the keeper of how Firmus sounds.

This is not a documentation role. You will describe our products technically and credibly, but you will not be writing API references, operations manuals, or engineering specifications. You will join the company with a well-established narrative and story, and pick up the pen as a full time owner of the cohesiveness of this story, and applying it consistently as it develops.

Key Responsibilities

Narrative Ownership

  • Help to hold the master narrative across the business - one coherent story from website to corporate - and keep every piece of external writing consistent with it.
  • Maintain and evolve the Firmus tone of voice: confident, precise, commercially realistic.
  • Act as the writing standard-setter for external materials produced across teams.

Core Communication Assets

  • Write and maintain the company's primary expressions of itself: website copy, corporate presentations, media statements, community information, company profiles, capability statements.
  • Develop presentation content with leadership, customers, partners, and conferences.
  • Ensure flagship materials stay current as the business scales - capacity, projects, partnerships, milestones, key metrics and claims
  • Ensure consistency in application of design of written materials across the business

Technical Product Writing

  • Describe Firmus's technology and platforms - cooling architecture, power systems, factory operations software, energy integration - with genuine technical fluency, at the depth each audience needs.
  • Describe Firmus’s AI Cloud product features and details across a number of mediums
  • Work directly with engineering and infrastructure teams so every technical claim is accurate, measurable, and defensible.
  • Translate engineering decisions into commercial meaning: why a design choice shows up in cost, performance, or reliability.

Thought Leadership

  • Identify where Firmus has earned the right to a public point of view, and build the written case for it.
  • Lead Firmus' thought leadership strategy in line with the overarching corporate and product communications strategy
  • Produce articles, papers, and explainers on the technical and economic substance of AI infrastructure — energy demand, cooling, compute economics, grid integration — under company and executive bylines.

Policy and Government-Facing Content

  • Draft briefing papers, submissions, and explanatory material for government stakeholders on AI infrastructure, energy demand, and national capability.
  • Bridge technical reality and policy expectations on AI, energy use, sustainability, and economic impact.

Accuracy and Credibility

  • Maintain factual accuracy, numerical integrity, and traceability in everything published.
  • Validate metrics, assumptions, and claims with internal teams as required before anything is published externally
  • Be deliberate about disclosure. What is said, to whom, and what is not.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience writing about AI infrastructure, data centres, energy systems, or large-scale technical platforms.
  • Strong capability in working with numbers: capacity, performance, cost, efficiency, and growth metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience producing commercially oriented technical or policy content.
  • Ability to engage deeply with technical and commercial stakeholders and extract what materially matters.
  • Comfort operating in environments where accuracy and credibility directly affect commercial and policy outcomes.
  • Write with an understanding of cost, scale, and operational constraints.
  • Test claims against data, not aspiration.
  • Understand that in AI and compute infrastructure, credibility is a commercial asset.
  • You are deliberate about what is said, and what is not.

Key Competencies

  • Strong communication (technical + non-technical audiences)
  • Strong ability to understand diverse angles of complicated issues, and tell a consistent narrative
  • Attention to detail, consistency in approach to writing, formatting and presentation
  • Managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership & ownership
  • Problem-solving under ambiguity

Location & Reporting

  • The right candidate can be based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia, or in Singapore.
  • Reports directly to GM Corporate Communications, works alongside GM Product & Brand Communications and Co-CEO
